Pitches and temperaments

The pitches

Unless stated otherwise, I will tune the instruments in 440 Hz to = 440 Hz in its cold state so that it can easily reach 442 Hz and above when played.

Instruments at 415 or 466 Hz or other original tunings will be tuned in a nearly warm state to their tuning level which means the instrument will sound slightly below when cold.

The temperaments

As a general rule, I tend not to tune any instrument equal tempered since this type of tuning for recorders, particularly when played with other historical instruments, has not proven to be practical.
Renaissance and early Baroque instruments are generally tuned in Kirnberger III which facilitates their use both with instruments of medium pitch as well as other accompanying Baroque instruments tuned to Baroque pitch. If so desired, I would be happy to tune the instrument to medium pitch.
Late Baroque instruments are generally tuned to Valotti/Young. This temperament works well with all common Baroque tunings and even with equal tempered instruments (this is important for "440" flutes).

I will tune the instrument to any other desired temperament on request.
